Stevenston Musical Society is a small choir based in south west Scotland and was formed in September 1969. It presently has around 36 active members who enjoy singing a wide variety of music. The Society exists to promote music locally and over it's existence has been able to donate to charities as well as sponsoring and encouraging local talent.

Over the years the Society has been fortunate of having sufficient talent to provide its own soloists for most works. One of the most well-known soloists has been James Nicol, one of the Society's founder members. Others have been accepted into the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) choir

The choir usually has three main concerts each year - two at Christmas and one in the Spring, but they are also happy to be invited along to other churches and venues to augment a regular worship service or to perform a musical evening.

Like many choirs, Stevenston Musical Society is always on the lookout for new members, particularly men. If you enjoy music and think you would like to sing pieces like those listed on the repertoire page, please come along. An ability to read music is not essential, although beneficial, as full practice is given.
